We’re looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Team!  

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mobile live ops and a passion for gaming. The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining a cloud-based data pipeline and architecture for our growing list of web-based and mobile game titles in live ops.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a cloud-based data pipeline for various web and mobile games in live ops.
• Work with stakeholders to understand data needs and design data solutions that meet those needs.
• Write high-performance, scalable, and maintainable code for data, organising, processing and storage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including game developers, data scientists, and operations teams, to ensure data is being used effectively to support live ops.
• Monitor and maintain data quality, security, and privacy standards.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the video gaming industry, and recommend new tools and techniques that can improve the data pipeline.

What will you bring to Tech Alchemy?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on live ops in a video gaming environment.
• Knowledge within Blockchain Technology would be beneficial. 
• Strong proficiency in SQL, NoSQL, MongoDB, Postgres and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, AWS Glue).
• Experience with real-time data processing and streaming technologies (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub).
• Experience with Python and Tableau
• Knowledge of data warehousing and dimensional modelling.
• Familiarity with data security and privacy standards and best practices
• Worked on finance domains
